Some fountains are true works of art and a delight to look at. It used to be that fountains were just for the outdoors, but as with the changing times, fountains have now been created for the indoors as well so that their artistic beauty and aesthetic appeal can be enjoyed not just outside, but in the comfort of your own home as well. And like everything else these days, fountains come in all sorts of fancy designs, shapes, sizes and materials to give different effects.

 

Fountains have become a common fixture today more than ever before, and the fact that they come in different varieties and styles suitable for almost any use just makes them an even more popular choice than ever before. Some common types of fountains you will come across are wall mounted fountains, which can be found either indoors or outdoors, and these can come in varieties such as copper wall mounted fountains types, or stainless steel wall mounted fountains. Then you have the fountains for the outdoors as well, which are known simply as outdoor wall fountains. And for those who just love fountains and the aesthetic appeal of them, now there are even tabletop fountains which can be placed on any surface anywhere.

 

There are characteristics between each of the fountain types that help distinguish one from the next, as no two categories of fountains are ever 100 percent identical. They have their similarities, because they are from the same group of things, but there are also differences that separate them. Some differences are:

 

- Wall Mounted Fountains: these can be mounted on any wall, post, fence, or any surface that can accommodate a wall fountain. Usually, these types are quite simple to set up and easy to install, but if you are not sure how to do so, you could always get someone to help you out with it. They also come in varying sizes, so depending on your wall surface, you can select the one that is going to best fit the wall depending on the amount of space available. If your wall space is small, don’t select a big fountain, and if your wall space if big, then don’t select a fountain that is far too small. The aim is to have it look as though your fountain blends in perfectly with the rest of your decor, and not look weird or out of place.

 

- Copper Wall Mounted Fountains: this is pretty much the same as your wall mounted fountain except that the fountain would be made of copper material. Like the wall mounted fountain, this too can be placed on any wall, post, fence or any surface that can accommodate this item. These too come in varying sizes and again depending on the amount of wall space you have, choose the size that is going to best blend in with the rest of your surroundings and not have something that is going to look too funny or too out of place in the whole area. Remember that your wall fountain decoration should be pleasing to the eye, and not an eyesore.

 

- Stainless Steel Wall Mounted Fountains: again this would be exactly the same as the wall mounted fountains mentioned above, except that the only difference here would be that it is made of stainless steel material. The similarities again are much like the one’s above, where they can be placed on any wall, post, fence or any surface that can accommodate it. And again, they too come in varying sizes and again depending on the amount of wall space you have, choose the size that is going to best blend in with the rest of your surroundings and not have something that is going to look too funny or too out of place in the whole area.

 

- Outdoor Wall Fountains: these are pretty much self-explanatory. They will be placed outdoors in your garden, backyard or anywhere you want that you feel a fountain would fit in well with the rest of the surroundings. They can be made of any material, and come in any size you want, because for outdoor fountains, the choices are actually much more flexible compared with indoor fountains since the amount of space available for the outdoors is more.

 

- Tabletop Fountains: these would be the smallest type of fountains out of the whole family of fountains, because they are built to just fit nicely onto your tabletop. They are small and compact so as to not occupy too much space on the table because a tabletop is a very small surfaced area to begin with. They too can be made of any sort of material as well, and really their most outstanding feature is that they are small and compact.

 

There are plenty more fountain varieties out there of course, so if you are thinking of getting one for yourself, whether it is for the indoors, outdoors or tabletop, pick the one that you like best that is going to blend in well with the rest of your existing decor.
